2 Corinthians

Having some time before I head off to East Sussex to Annan Court for an outing to the Woods with M and W.

Starting a study of 2 corinthians this morning, part of my morning reading for the next month or so (depending on progress).

Different perspectives can be taken, with different focus depending on the reader.

For me, I guess its to ask the question, not just what is God saying to me, but what is God saying about HIM.

I remember the last time I read corinthians, the focus was alot on the need for grace in the work of the church in giving, or just how to exercise grace as leaders and a few warnings here and there.

Guess after, a one sitting reading of 2 corinthians today to get a brief big picture, what stands out for me overall is that meekness IS strength!

More intricately, in this book, I believe there a gems of lessons on and in discipleship Without a doubt, I believe so, for me at least. It also then further takes us on to how to maintain that heartbeat for discipleship.

Okay, so i'm starting with chapter 1:1-11 today, focusing on the fellowship of the suffering (eventhough the title on my bible says God of all comfort). Quite amazing how it is such a correlation to the past 3 weeks of our study at DCG on revelation where alot of the focus was on this "fellowship of the suffering". God is in total control, even when we dun have the ability to endure. But it is that true dependency on Him, and as a result of yup, GRACE and PEACE we have in Him, we will be more than OK.

Off to Annan Court now ...

Grace and Peace
