Short Entry

I saw some amazing things this weekend, heard some amazing testimonies and met some divinely appointed people. Last nite, I really had a craving to watch a movie...(hmm..i dun quite know if the word "craving" is only used for food!) So I did. Watched "The Interpreter" starring Nicole Kidman and Sean Penn. It was good. Two things struck me personally- the scenes of Africa ( a war torn Africa where massive killings were taking place) and, secondly, at the end of the movie when this African leader guy, read out his beliefs about liberating the people of the land, something he once held true to and fought for, which he had now long forgotten. I came out feeling thoughtful and I looked back on my time on the ship where I heard many real testimonies, saw many slides and pictures of Africa esp those poverty stricken areas. My heart was broken. I long for justice there, I long for economic development and I long for just God to be so real to them, how they too must be won for his kingdom. These thoughts grew I guess from the already pressing built up in my heart over the weekend when I was apart of what some of my friends did in Leeds, Community Penetration through acts of kindness with no strings attached to bless the community around them. And the next day, prayer walking through these streets, claiming the land for Him - really in faith, praying for these strangers and their needs.

This morning, I needed time to myself I guess to be still before the Lord. The one question that circled in my thoughts was "What compels us? What am I compelled by?" I am reminded by the apostle who Paul said, "Christ's love compels us" (2 Cor. 5:14 NIV). This is the answer. God gave me an answer. Christ's love was the driving force behind all that Paul did. Then I realised, LOVE is a much more powerful motivator than anything else in the world!

Amen?

I am so proud of my friends. I know Christ's love compels them. I am honoured to have been apart of that vision they have for their community and everyone else who is outside the kingdom. They captured the heart of God personally and corporately.

Mike Bickle aptly writes in his book Pleasures of Loving God: "As we position our souls to make the first commandment first, we will be lovers before we are workers. We will be worshipers before we are warriors. Through Christ's loving embrace, He will show us that we are to be a bride before we are an army."
