At long last....I am finally blogging properly!!
It has been the most mundane day in my entire lifetime!
It was dull, routine, tedious, unexciting and most uninteresting.......never experienced it before?? Well, let me then introduce you to the world of DUE DILIGENCE....I started my day at the same spot 930am and ended my day at the very same spot 630pm before even leaving that dreaded seat at the Berjaya Tower along Jalan Bukit Bintang, a street noted for its happening buzz and lively ambience....and where was dear me?? I was on the 11th floor seated on a rather fuzzy chair with my laptop, stacks of company log books and a stinking smell of sotong coming from the corridor...I said to a friend today, I've never missed Shearn Delamore & Co so much before...I learnt to appreciate the office I worked at where I'm based up on the 21st floor....I would give anything to be back at my nice little corner , with my nice comfortable chair and with my wonderful chirpy friends...I miss you Jaymie, Nisha n Kim!
Such was my day........or so it seems...
Ah....then there's always the brighter side of life
I got a very nice surprise today! (of which I will rant about some other time!) I think God knew how I was feeling somewhat...Work sometimes brings out that complaining nature in us doens't it? I suppose I'm rambling on merely cos I do not see the importance of what we're doing at due d but I suppose if I was the Director of this company (who will remain nameless) I'd like to know every single detail of Company B of which I am buying over to see if there are any skeletons in the closet! Well, with that thought in mind, I'm resorting to adopting this attitude now as I trod along this same path again tomorrow...perhaps, I'll find the legal auditing work more meanigful!
Here's something I learnt today from my QT : -
"The scoundrel's methods are wicked, he makes up evil schemes to destroy the poor with lies, even when the plea of the needy is just. But the noble man makes noble plans, and by noble deeds he stands." Isaiah 32: 7-8
John Scriven wrote recently about calling. In relation to the poor we are all called to do something. Of course, we also are blessed by the Lord with our own special calling to be lawyers for Him, and where the two meet we are able to glorify God with our response......a response that demonstates God's character through His love of justice.
"You created everything, and it is for your pleasure that they exist and were created." Revelations 4:11
Our purpose is to live for His pleasure, in obedience, in response to His call and above all in love.
His response?
"The Lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with salvation." Psalm 149:4"
So in conclusion............ it was ONE FINE DAY after all
Oh, And I'd like to recommend Jim Cymbala's book on Breakthrough Prayer - it humbles me everytime I move from chapter to chapter! Felt like God is bringing me through a journey to this secret and sacred place in the heart where prayer breaks through and brings breathtaking blessings ....
