Leaders Cell

I'm back!
Oh my precious blog...I've missed you!
So, after 4 weeks moving from SEEC to NEEC to Las Pasmas, the waves of time have finally swept me back to the normality of life in London, England :)
Surviving a huge cultural shock or some will call it a re-entry period for the first 2 days back was an emotional and mental challenge. But, thank God I'm back into study mode.
My first encounter with the human kind (aside from my sister) was with my OCF leaders at Leaders Cell. It was probably the BEST cell for many of us, having been away, mugging loads for exams, feeling bored etc.
Below is a picture of what we drew, describing how we have been feeling for the week and what we were up to. It was a fettish type competition between Sandra and Gavin particularly to score extra brownie points. Jo kicked start the sharing and somewhat along the way digressed into sharing with us about the dream she had the night before....man, that was like the highlight of the evening because soon after her sharing, every single person digressed into the motion of sharing dreams (weird ones) that they have been having. Could it be the stress of studying or the volume of idling during the day? Hmm...I will spare us all the details except to say our ice breaking hit its peak with Finn's dream - which escalated a big outburst of extreme laughter in the room! He always gets the prize for the best things, I think :P An all rounder indeed! His dream ended off with him feeling the pinching bite (literally) of reality that woke him up..
Ok, so about 30% of my soul was refreshed and the metre was goin up....Then, worship and word time from Genesis 24 to Genesis 28. It was an insight from God about Abraham, Isaac and Jacob particularly taking us to the life of Isaac. The God of Isaac = The God of Delight. Personally, my take home point was how God first gives us a destiny, a plan for our lives and that destiny is one of greatness - just like in Abraham's life. If you study the life of Abraham and Isaac, this father and son were very similar in their ways ( a discovery I just made!) Looking at Isaac, we find that the God of Isaac is a God of Delight. God doesn't just have a plan and purpose and a destiny for us - God is interested in US (our being) and He is a God that gives us everything we need. What do we need to do? Just delight in Him. Its all done for us. Delighting in Him = Resting in Him , yes a form of restfullness, no longer a struggle. For a moment, I was in awe of His Majesty and His grace. The focus is not me, not what I do. Its all about abiding in Him, for apart from Him we can do nothing. That is primary, then God's power enables us to flow in accordance of the success of His plans for our lives.
Ended cell with a scripture reading and meditation from Psalm 37..It was a personal Psalm to me because it was God's direct deposit into my soul when I was in Las Pasmas. I knew this was mine, and I am making this Psalm mine :P hehe...Hope the Psalm writer doesn't mind! The first 3 words from Psalm 37 is DO NOT FRET! If you read the whole psalm through slowly, be marvelled at how the Lord will speak to you. Every reading for me, I receive something new so may that encourage you to read this Psalm...Look out for key words like Trust, Delight, Commit, Be Still, Refrain, Uphold, Turn, Wait, Consider, Observe. Indeed, those who hope in the Lord will inherit the Land ( this is your spiritual blessing!)
Now, that's about 60% of my soul rejuvenated....so what next?
Something we don't do very often after leaders cell, but we all needed some physical food after all that intake of spiritual food. We enjoyed great time of fellowship at Hare & Tortoise, and I still haven't been able to answer Eu Jin's question about why don't they call it Rabbit & Turtle. So my only logical explanation to him was that it sounded better - its all about marketing! :P
Waited for the bus to go home and guess who I bumped into on board?? My little sis...hehe...and we had a good chat on the way back, our very first proper conversation since I returned.
So my batteries are almost full now...and yes, I am back in London where God has placed me for such a time as this.
First on my priorities list is to clean my room and start on gear 1 of my essay writing!
Delight yourself in the Lord!
