I'm feeling alittle tired now, slumped on my nice leather chair typing this. Excited about tomorrow, but as always having a kezillion things on my mind - and checking off what I need to do, who I need to call, what I need to bring etc.
Meditating on John 10v10 reminds be how God has saved all of us from a purposeless life. Yet, do we realise what a great gift this is. To be honest, with the busyness of creating and planning the various simulations for camp, writing the debrief, sorting the "organisational" stuff - I've barely had time to sit down to really think about the talks proper. Albeit the 4 talks, I'm only gonna be giving 2 - the flow is important -ie how do we connect and bring people on a journey to that climax we seek - the Encounter with Jesus for themselves.
Am thankful that behind all these lies the 2 very people whom are like a backbone for me when it comes to packaging the spiritual side of things, processing with me.
Coming to the conclusion that the main message to communicate is that we DO NOT compromise on the message of the gospel. We want to bring the teens back to basics, that they are shaken to realise that the christian life is RADICAL. Ahem..Ra-di-cal. Saying it again, Ra-di-cal. So, what does that mean? To re-purpose ourselves to the values of the Christian faith and biblical truths. A fundamental biblical truth is what being a christian means, a question we don't tackle long enough or deep enough at times. Its dear to my heart that some of the teens make a commitment towards life transformation - what God does in their heart. I'm not interested in how many people say the sinner's prayer or put up their hands but I really want to know how God encountered them, and if they have that first hand faith!
Please pray for us as we seek to impart these 3 important biblical truths :
I'm singing "Jesus, author of salvation, my God is mighty to save"
Hold the weather please Lord!! You're in control - and we surrender our Conference to you. Amen!
